Clinical Supervision & EMDR Consultation
I am a Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved Supervisor. I offer clinical supervision and case consultation grounded in over 15 years of advanced clinical practice, with a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a deep interest in healing trauma and attachment wounding.
I believe supervision should be: experiential, collaborative, compassionate, flexible, strengths-based, & confidence-inspiring.
Services include:
- Case consultation for a range of evidenced-based therapies including EMDR.
- Supervision and placement guidance for higher degree students (HDR).
- Supervision for registrars under the 5+1 pathways (and the 4+2 within AHPRA’s transition timeline).
- Supervision for re-entry and transitional programs.
- Assistance with exam preparation for sitting the National Psychology Exam.
Supervision as a Reflective Practice
The Psychology Board of Australia’s new Code of Conduct and professional competencies for psychologists, effective December 1, 2025, explicitly positions reflective practice as a foundational expectation.
I offer supervision as a space for reflective practice tailored to your level of experience, your clinical edge, and the real-world complexity of your caseload.
Whether tending to your own self-care needs, integrating trauma-informed frameworks, developing case formulations, or exploring clinical choice points, our work will focus on deepening your therapeutic clarity and expanding your skill set within a grounded, ethically sound framework.
EMDR Therapy Consultation:
- Experiential reflective practice in a supportive setting.
- Improve your case conceptualization, target selection and understanding of your clients through the lens of Shapiro’s AIP model.
- Enhance your use of the Standard Protocol.
- Gain clinical clarity about ‘why’ you are making decisions at each ‘decision point’.
- Improve your use of Resource Development & Installation (RDI).
- Integrating EMDR with other complimentary therapies & Parts work (eg IFS, DBR, ACT, CFT, AI-EMDR, & different ways of working with Parts).
- Gain confidence in the use of client-centered cognitive interweaves.
- Broaden your understanding and confidence in choosing (and using) EMDR Therapy Protocols other than the Standard Protocol.
Therapy for Therapists
Andreas also offers therapy for other therapists (i.e., as Clients). Just like how doctors need doctors of their own, therapists also need therapy. Engaging in therapy is recognized as integral for therapist growth and burnout prevention especially when working with complex trauma caseloads.
Moreover, if you are a psychologist, experiencing a therapy ‘from the inside’ may contribute to your own reflective practice (a foundational expectation in the new Code of Conduct and professional competencies for psychologists, effective December 1, 2025).
As therapists, engaging in therapy of our own has many benefits empowering us to be our best when we show up to assist others:
- Self-Care & Burnout Prevention: Doing our ‘own work’ can help reduce emotional fatigue and increase resilience which can allow us to remain maximally effective in our work.
- Increase Self-Awareness: Maintaining awareness of our own “blind spots” and biases can help prevent us from having any unintended negative influences on our clients.
- Enhance Empathy & Gain Insight: Experiencing a deeper understanding of what it feels like to be a client can help us improve our empathy and can increase our capacity to Mentalize, which can provide us with new client insights and improve the way we deliver our therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain a High Standard of Ethical Practice: Engaging in personal therapy is part of our ethical obligation to our clients and ensures we are doing no harm by unconsciously projecting any of our own unresolved issues.
